remember this post?
how about a progress report?
plant a tree that blossoms.
this lovely plant happens to be a meyer lemon tree. thriving in our home since summer!
i recently felt so overcome with its success, i ordered a fig tree.
***
find a picture of me at 37 that i LOVE.
our family photographer is rendezvous-ing with us mid-november. and in her magical hands, i am hopeful. very.
***
memorize a poem.
i haven't done this yet, but i LOVE how she challenged her readers to do it, too!
***
write hand-written thank you's.
***
take my lovelies on a scavenger hunt.
at present count, they have been on not 1.
not 2.
rather 4 scavenger hunts this year! scavenger hunts at birthdays and end of year celebrations and slumber parties. so, if you ever wondered how far one little intention will take you. . .
***
fill a wall in our home with hand-picked art i LOVE.
my favorite artists happen to be the two little women who live here.
***
whisk my mister away somewhere for a weekend.
okay. the whole family actually whisked away to horseshoe bay. but the trip was spontaneous. somewhere we had never been. and absolutely divine. so. . .it counts!
***
find 2 new recipes to add to our repertoire.
her recipe for chocolate chip cookies is now a staple here.
***
make my handwriting my own font.
i haven't done this. yet.
but i have the perfect app!
***
grow some vegetables.
do herbs count?
***
try a new fruit.
because of the lemon tree's success, i have toyed with also ordering a kumquat tree next. and that is a fruit i have never, ever tried. . .
***
write down our favorite family stories.
right now, i collect snippets and details of them in note form on my phone as they organically surface in conversation.
at some point, i would really LOVE to display them somehow.
any suggestions?
***
soak up the sun this summer. slathered in spf.
sun was soaked. all summer long.
***
learn to rock climb.
i haven't gone up the wall myself, but i know how to belay now. and i couldn't very well say that when i made my list.
***
visit another country.
ah, copenhagen.
***
surprise someone in an unexpected but most delightful way.
done. and done.
***
spend an entire day making a playlist. repeat this twice.
i made 4 mixes. a collection i am calling my mighty mix.
***
use intuition more than logic.
let me just say, i have been leaning out of logic and into intuition more than ever in my life.
choosing faith over fear.
what i know for sure is. . .
when i ignore the thump-thump in my heart, the lesson still comes. just in a less joyful way.
***
take a family road trip.
sea world. horsehoe bay.
and, maybe if we are lucky, one more before twenty-thirteen is here.
***
i have two months left to tackle a few more on my list, but for today. . .
i am going to celebrate and relish the delight every one of these perfect little lovemarks created!
